Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) shares jumped 5.7% to close at $202.14 on March 5, fueled by CEO Lisa Su's announcement of soaring demand for AI chips and a strategic partnership with Meta. The 6-gigawatt, multi-year deal will deploy AMD's Instinct GPUs across Meta's AI infrastructure, with initial rollout slated for late 2026. Su called the agreement "transformational," noting enterprise demand has "far exceeded" projections.

Wall Street remains bullish. Piper Sandler and Jefferies maintained $300 price targets, citing AMD's positioning in the AI hardware arms race. The rally comes alongside new product launches, including Ryzen AI 400 series processors and a $150 million joint investment with Nutanix. Despite the gains, AMD shares remain down 9.5% year-to-date.
